Description

Oracle Fusion Applications - Upcoming Exception Migration to Identity and Access Management (IAM) Oracle Cloud User, During your scheduled Fusion Applications exception maintenance, the Identity and Access Management (IAM) for your Fusion environment(s) will be upgraded to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Identity and Access Management (OCI IAM). Important: Your environments are enabled with Federated SSO. You must complete the pre-upgrade actions for each environment, including production, at least 72 hours before the scheduled downtime of each environment to ensure continued access to Fusion Applications. These steps do not affect your current SSO, integrations, or workflows. They are for testing/validation only and take effect after the identity upgrade. Why is this change happening? The new OCI IAM experience in Oracle Cloud Console provides enhanced capabilities for managing authentication, sign-on policy, single sign-on (SSO), and multi-factor authentication (MFA). All existing user attributes (user names, emails, login credentials, Federated SSO configuration) will be migrated during the upgrade, allowing you to leverage OCI IAM capabilities.  When is this change happening? See the start time and estimated end time in the schedule below. What are my required actions? Your environment(s) are enabled with Federated SSO; therefore, you must complete the following actions for each environment, including production, at least 72 hours before the scheduled downtime of each environment to ensure continued access to your Fusion Applications. Your users will not be able to use SSO to sign into Fusion Applications if you do not complete the required actions. To learn more, refer to Pre-upgrade tasks for federated SSO environments. Oracle recommends that Fusion Applications environment administrators identify the individual(s) responsible for performing the required actions below. The individual(s) may have Identity Administrator and/or Security Administrator roles. Download the SAML metadata file for the environment's associated identity domain from the Oracle Cloud Console. Configure Service Provider(s) in your corporate identity system that federate SSO for your Fusion Applications environment. Update Identity Provider(s) in the associated identity domain and test from Oracle Cloud Console. Acknowledge that the Service Provider(s) and Identity Providers(s) setup is completed as part of the pre-upgrade required actions on Oracle Cloud Console. If the required actions are not completed before that time, your users won't be able to use SSO to sign into Fusion Applications after the identity upgrade. You can resolve the issue by completing the required pre-upgrade actions immediately. If you need assistance, contact Oracle by logging a Support Request (SR). Will the required pre-upgrade actions affect my current environments? These actions do not affect your current SSO, integrations, or workflows. They are for testing/validation only and take effect after the identity upgrade. What should I do if I have other applications that integrate with Fusion environments? If you have other applications (such as Taleo or CPQ) that use Fusion environments to federate SSO, you must reconfigure the Identity Provider in the other applications and retest the federation after the identity upgrade to ensure that Federated SSO for other applications continues to function correctly. Check all "Integrated applications" in the Identity and Security section of Oracle Cloud Console to identify any service that integrates with Fusion Applications environments, and make sure the authentication for the integration is working after the identity upgrade.
